Welcome to Platform, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre’s newsletter designed to provide associations with an insight into holding an event in Australia’s most vibrant city, Sydney.

After receiving an enormous amount of feedback through our 2008 survey, we have decided to distribute Platform electronically, not only for environmental reasons, but also so we provide you with useful and up-to-date content.

This edition of Platform outlines a range of initiatives at the Centre, all aimed at ensuring that we continue to deliver a world-class experience to our clients and visitors. In the year ahead, we anticipate growth in a variety of areas including smaller meetings with a boutique exhibition element. As a result, we are about to embark on a major upgrade of our Convention Centre Parkside, as detailed in this issue.

You’ll also read about our recent Platform09 seminar on bidding for an international event, and learn new tips that can help your meeting. In addition, we have provided two case studies of recent events at the Centre which will give you some useful ideas.

We hope you enjoy our first online Platform and look forward to welcoming you to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre very soon.
